ReelAbilities Pittsburgh is a national program presented locally by Film Pittsburgh. Initiated in New York at the JCC Manhattan in 2007, the original ReelAbilities Film Festival was the first festival to present a series of award-winning films by, about, and for people with disabilities.
The 2023 festival will include 3 nights of in-person events—including 2 feature films, a shorts block of 8 films, after-parties, an art exhibit with artists from Studio Forget-Me-Not, and filmmaker Q&As. The festival will also include 3 virtual feature films and 1 virtual shorts block.
Creating Dialogue between Disability Studies and Bioethics, and between Healthcare Professionals and Patients with Disabilities is the theme of much of the 2023-2024 programming of the Center for Bioethics & Health Law.
