Concurrent Hospice Care: Opportunities for Clinical and Policy Innovation

August 30, 2023 -

Natalie C. Ernecoff, PhD, MPH
Policy Researcher at the RAND Corporation

Abstract: Hospice provides physical and psychological symptom management, and psychosocial, spiritual, and bereavement support for people near the end of life and their families. However, the model of hospice delivery in the United States does not serve all people who could benefit equally well due to historical context and policy constraints. In this talk, Dr. Ernecoff will discuss the history of hospice and innovations for policy and clinical care delivery that are being designed and tested to better support patients and their families.
