Abstract: This symposium seeks to bring together various disciplines within medicine and the humanities to inspire new teaching methods and improve patient-physician interactions. It will present current research by academics, researchers, professionals, and students in medicine and the humanities and arts. It will include papers, roundtables, and expressive works of art. Renée Nicholson, Director of the Humanities Center at West Virginia University and a specialist in narrative medicine, will present the keynote address on October 19.
