Evangelian Collings

  • 2022-2023 Health Humanities and Ethics Fellow

As a doctoral candidate in the Department of Philosophy, Evangelian Collings investigated questions of personal identity and mind-body interaction via a focus on the phenomena of pregnancy, birth, and infancy. She argues for analytic philosophy to attend to the importance of birth for the ontology of persons. As the Center's first Health Humanities and Ethics Fellow, co-sponsored with the Humanities Center, she developed a portion of her dissertation into a manuscript relevant to the abortion debate.
