Abstract: Drawing on his experience from multiple vantage points, Dr. DeVita will discuss the impact of scarce resources on “routine” ethical decisioning, recount challenges to autonomy posed by widespread contagious serious illness, and examine how late consequences of critical illness may impact decisioning.
