Clinical Ethics Consultation: Note Writing, Tracking, Trending, and Follow-up

March 26, 2024 -
12:00pm to 1:00pm

Abstract: While the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH) has provided some guidance on the content that should be communicated in a clinical ethics consultation note, what constitutes a well-written note remains somewhat debated. Several clinical ethicists have offered suggestions to craft notes that contain the ASBH’s suggested content but are also clear, concise, and accessible to the non-ethicist. This ECHO will review clinical ethics consultation note content and structure suggestions. Additionally, it will briefly discuss tracking, trending, and doing follow up to improve the consultation process.

Project ECHO (Extension for Community Health Outcomes) on healthcare ethics is offered through the West Virginia Rural Emergency Trauma Institute Inc
