Maya Albanowski is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she majored in microbiology and English writing and completed a BPhil thesis on women's health narratives. In addition to the Medical Humanities and Ethics Area of Concentration, she is part of the Social Medicine Fellows Program. She is interested in medical narratives and reproductive healthcare access and believes in the importance of staying immersed in the humanities as a way of maintaining the artistry in the art of medicine.
