Book Launch Event
Abstract: This panel discussion will celebrate the publication of Languages of Trauma: History, Memory, and Media (University of Toronto Press, 2021), which addresses the interdisciplinarity of trauma studies, with a substantial focus on gender and medicine. It contains a chapter by Center affiliated faculty member Bridget Keown, PhD, that focuses on the private writing of British and Irish nurses during the First World War, and a chapter by Pitt Film Studies faculty member Adam Lowenstein, PhD, about individual and collective trauma. During the event, contributing authors will present a brief overview of their chapters and engage in moderated discussion.
