One Health and the Future of Food

Abstract: This symposium will address the effects on human, animal and environmental health of food systems, habits, and culture.

Wednesday’s keynote lecture—Optimal Nutrition for Personal, Population and Planetary Health—will be presented by Frank B. Hu, MD, PhD (Chair of the Department of Nutrition and Fredrick J. Stare Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health; and Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital).

Thursday’s symposium includes presentations by experts from healthcare, environmental, veterinary, and other disciplines, who will address the human, animal and ecological impacts of food and diet, including large-scale agriculture, plant-based diets and diet trends, antibiotics, and pesticides in foods. The Pennsylvania Medical Society designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).
