Abstract: University researchers are accustomed to using neurotechnologies under fairly specific protocols and regulations. But what about when these technologies are used outside the lab? This installment of the Rehab Neural Engineering Labs’ neuroethics discussion series will explore do-it-yourself, direct-to-consumer, alternative, and off-label neurotechnologies. Who are the users of these technologies, how do they use them, and what does this mean for neuroscience and neurotechnology research?
