Abstract: Devices and services that gather and analyze our personal data have become a part of daily life. With this, we as a society have become aware that data privacy is not a given, but rather an intentional priority that requires effort and planning from all stakeholders. Now, emerging neurotechnologies are pushing the conversation on data privacy in new directions. How can we prepare ourselves for a future in which our devices will be capable of probing deeply intimate details about our minds? Drs. Pratt and Naufel will discuss ongoing efforts by academia, industry, and government to understand what neural data privacy should look like and how we can better understand our relationship with our neural data.
