Class: How Disability Perspectives Inform Cultural Competence Training and End-of-Life Decision Making

May 10, 2018 -
9:00am to 12:00pm

Mary Crossley
John E. Murray Faculty Scholar and Professor of Law
University of Pittsburgh

Overview:  During this session we will describe some of the health disparities and health care disparities experienced by people with disabilities and articulate how experiences of people with disabilities in the health care system contribute to those disparities.  Professor Crossley will examine how including disability culture in cultural competence training, might help address some of those disparities; and will also look at disability perspectives that question the liberalization of laws regarding end-of-life decision making.
