Clinical Ethics Training Program

The Clinical Ethics Training Program was established in 1988 with a grant from the Vira I. Heinz Endowment as one of the most comprehensive ethics education programs within a medical school. Currently the Program integrates clinical training in bioethics into the third- and fourth-year curricula of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and into postgraduate training, employing a case-oriented clinical approach. The Program includes a fourth-year elective: Ethical Issues in Clinical Practice.
