Traveling by car

From the north:

Follow I-79 South to Pittsburgh. Take the I-279 exit toward Pittsburgh, then exit 8A (I-579 South/Veterans Bridge). Follow I-579 to the Oakland/Monroeville exit. Once off of the ramp, follow the Forbes Avenue/Oakland signs for 1.5 miles. Take the Forbes Avenue exit (poorly marked). The Law School is at the near right corner of Bouquet and Forbes Avenue.

From the south:

Follow I-279 North toward Pittsburgh, and through the Fort Pitt Tunnels. Once on the Fort Pitt Bridge, get into the far right lane, and take the I-376/Monroeville exit. Follow I-376 East to the Forbes Avenue/Oakland exit.  Take the Forbes Avenue exit (poorly marked). The Law School is at the near right corner of Bouquet and Forbes Avenue.

From the east:

Via the PA turnpike (I-76), take exit 57 (old exit 6) to I-376 West, then take exit 3A (Oakland) onto Bates Street. Follow Bates until it ends at Bouquet Street. Turn left onto Bouquet Street. The Law School is at the near right corner of Bouquet and Forbes Avenue.

From the west:

Via the PA turnpike (I-76), take exit 57 (old exit 6) to I-376 West, then take exit 3A onto Bates Street. Follow Bates until it ends at Bouquet Street. Turn left onto Bouquet Street. The Law School is at the near right corner of Bouquet and Forbes Avenue.

Traveling by plane

Pittsburgh International Airport is about 15 miles southwest of the University of Pittsburgh. The 28X Airport Flyer bus runs approximately every half hour from the airport to Oakland and the University of Pittsburgh, for less than $3 one way. If renting a car, follow the driving directions from the south. If taking a taxi your fare should be approximately $50 (depending on traffic).


Traveling by bus

Greyhound - Trailways www.greyhound.com bus station in Pittsburgh is located at 11th Street and Liberty Avenue, downtown about three miles from Pitt campus. The campus can be reached by taxi service or by Port Authority Bus lines on Fifth Avenue, several blocks from the station. For the Port Authority Bus schedules, click here or call 412-566-5500.


Traveling by train

Amtrak - www.amtrak.com (1-800-872-7245) has two east-bound trains and two west-bound trains each day. Connections can be made in Chicago (Union Station) and New York (Moynihan Train Hall). The terminal is located at Liberty and Grant Streets downtown. Transportation to Pitt from downtown can be made by bus or cab.
